The West Madison Polar Caps is hosting a Try Hockey for Free event at Madison Ice Arena on September 7th from 11:30am-4:00pm. Come out to the rink and give it a try!  We will provide the gear and get your skater out and moving on the ice with Polar Caps coaches.  Please plan to stay with your skater for the duration of the event.

Location: Madison Ice Arena, 725 Forward Drive, Madison, WI

Arrival: Anytime between 11:30am and 3:00pm (see schedule below)

On ice activities:  

11:30am-12:30pm:  Madison Ice Mavens (hockey moms club)

12:30-1:30pm:  "Mini Mavens" - Girls THFF Event

1:30-3:45pm:  All Kids THFF Event 

Off ice activities: Watch the Ice Mavens skate/play hockey from 11:30am-12:30pm and get to know the Polar Caps community!  We'll also have "floor hockey" set up outside (weather permitting), along with pizza and ice cream at the rink.

What to wear/bring: Please have your child wear athletic clothing (sweatshirt and sweatpants are best) and bring a helmet and/or skates if you have them.  We will outfit kids with all the gear they need to try hockey!

Looking for more than just one afternoon at the rink? Get your young athlete out on the ice with the Polar Caps Learn to Play program.  

The program is specially designed for new skaters, and focuses on developing basic foundation skating and hockey skills in your young player.  They will have a blast learning and playing alongside their future Polar Caps teammates!
